This lovely 1940s navy and white polkadot dress is in superb vintage condition for something of this age and is the perfect choice for an informal daytime event, easily accessorised to dress up for evening. The polkadot print varies in size with larger dots on the shoulders and hem, medium on the bodice and mid skirt and smaller ones over the bust and navel creating a wonderful dynamism in the aesthetic. This charming piece features a compact sweetheart neckline, loose fitting quarter length sleeves and a statement bow detail over the chest to accentuate and elevate the bust. There is a neatly cinched waistband which draws in with a fabric tie belt and generous skirt gathered into pleats at the waist and descending in soft folds towards the ankle. The dress can be slipped over the head and has a small row of popper fastenings to the left of the bodice to secure. This beautiful piece is labelled La Roco, would flatter all ages and would best suit a US size 6-8, UK size 10-12.
